Anyone who's made the trek to Ricky's Burgers in Crosby will be happy to know that owners Dinorah Barnes and Barry Barnes have opened a new place in Memorial. Urban Kitchen debuted very quietly last month with a menu of classic comfort food balanced by healthier dishes. Apart from salmon smoked in-house, the on-site smoker also doles out pulled pork for flatbreads and sandwiches, and catch-of-the-day fish that the owners have been known to personally cart in. Dinorah said she hopes to offer a comfortable eatery to that area and to "create a restaurant experience that is rooted in good food and family. We are here to accommodate and serve everyone who wants to eat well and have a good time."

The family-run spot also boasts a full wine list and local craft beer on tap, plus an outdoor space that seats 30 people. Urban Kitchen is now open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take a look inside and a peek at the dinner menu below:
