West University bar The Eighteenth Cocktail Bar has closed at its current location. An Eater tipster clued us in when the Yelp page for the popular spot showed that they'd officially shuttered. An admin for the bar's Facebook page tells Eater that the owners are planning to move the bar to a new location soon, but they're currently reluctant to announce any prospective areas. The bar recently underwent several changes, including a revamp of the drinks offerings and a shuffle in the ownership group.

Former Antique/Vintage managers Amir Ansari and Davar Ansari joined up with Hughes Hangar's Erick Ramirez and Frank Ramirez to open this place in 2012. Billed as a speakeasy lounge, the place eventually came to attract a large nightclub crowd. Now the place will head to a new address where it will continue to have the 1920s-era style and theme, and maybe the same devoted followers who frequent the other Ansari-Ramirez establishments. As for the space at Kirby and Bissonnet, it's been home to a revolving cast of concepts and establishments, from Gallant Knight to Antique Bar. It'll be interesting to see what opens up next at 2511 Bissonnet, and how long it will remain in business. Check back for an update on The Eighteenth's new home when the owners confirm an address.

Update: Swamplot reported that it may soon be the site of a new Escalante's.
