House of Pies is Back; Bradley's Fine Diner is Now Open

UPPER KIRBYHoustonia's Gastronaut reports that 50-year-old diner House of Pies on Kirby has reopened. A fire shuttered the place last fall, just before Thanksgiving, and several locals are happy to have it back. [Eaterwire]

DISCOUNT WIRENara's half-priced lunch is continuing through the month of April. Chef/owner Donald Chang has crafted a menu of new dishes and flatbreads to be served daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. As for the social hour service that was recently launched, it's every weekday from 5 to 7 p.m. and features $7 bites including open-faced soup dumplings, Korean-style chicken wings, miso shrimp tempura and bao. Drink specials include half-off specialty cocktails and martinis, $5 select glasses of wine and discounted beer. [Eaterwire]
