Plinio Sandalio IN at Main Kitchen & 806 Lounge

Esteemed pastry chef Plinio Sandalio is headed back to Houston after a stint at Austin's Congress and most recently at Carillon. According to The Statesman, "Friday will be the last day at the upscale restaurant for the imaginative Bolivian-born chef, who is moving to Houston to take a job at the JW Marriott and be closer to his family." The Art Institute of Houston-trained chef worked at late Gravitas and earned a James Beard Award nomination for his desserts, now he will join former Plonk! and Clumsy Butcher chef Erin Smith at the JW Marriott's Main Kitchen & 806 Lounge. That spot is looking more and more like a future must-visit destination for local food lovers and Houston visitors alike, with two award-winning chefs coming together to create a formidable culinary team.
