HANGOVER OBSERVATIONS— Ten competing food trucks and restaurants came together for the Curry Crawl this past weekend. Judges awarded first prize to chef Matthew Pak of the Golden Grille food truck for his Curry Carnitas Grilled Cheese. A People's Choice honor was announced by 'Man of the Year' nominee Sam Governale (and LLS representative) and went to celebrity chef Susie Jimenez of Trenza for her Lamb Vindaloo Tostada. Other notable participants were Fat Bao, which served a coffee curry braised brisket with tumeric rice and soon-to-open downtown South African restaurant + bar Springbok, which introduced guests to the BunnyChow. The Lion Dancers of Houston were another highlight of the evening; they put on a performance at STRAITS (800 Sorella Court), dancing their way through the restaurant. [Eaterwire]

SUMMER LISTICLES— This mega-listicle is a convenient way to get ready for a summer of eating and drinking around town. The list includes the summer sausage banh mi at Revival Market, summer sundae at Fat Cat Creamery and 28 other warm-weather musts. [Zagat Houston]

DOWNTOWN— All aboard the Metro Light Rail tomorrow for Take the Train Tuesday. Stop off at bars all along the downtown row of great new drinkeries and enjoy discounts from 4 to 8 p.m. (Little Dipper's got $1.50 Lone Stars and $3 Bulleits.) Some stops include Goro & Gun, Clutch City Squire, OKRA Charity Saloon and Captain Foxheart's Bad News Bar & Spirit Lodge. [Eaterwire]
