Oxheart Owners Slated to Open Wine & Whiskey Bar

Oxheart chefs/owners Justin Yu and Karen Man are joining forces with wine pro Justin Vann to open Public Services Wine & Whiskey bar this fall. According to the Chron, the trio will be offering "'nontraditional bar snacks' to go with a Vann-curated selection of wines and whiskeys." Vann promises his brand of harder-to-find, lesser-known spirits and expects to serve them simply and with "minimal intervention." Vann says that they will be "free from the constraints of pairing wine with stupid vegetable-driven cuisine." The wine maven worked with both Man and Yu as the wine director at Oxheart before heading off to launch his wine consulting company PSA Wines last year.

The upcoming bar will open at the historic old Cotton Exchange Building on Travis (see map at right), where Gin Braverman, who designed the Camerata and Oxheart interiors, is already hard at work renovating this downtown space.
