The Daily Juice Is Now Open in the Memorial Area

Because drinking your calories doesn't always involve a stiff drink—especially with the summer months ahead and healthy options high in demand—get ready to welcome the expansion of the juicing movement. At the forefront of that trend in Austin is the Daily Juice, an 11-year-old brand that's slated to expand throughout the state, including 10 Dallas-area locations by 2016 and a newly open spot in the Memorial area here in town. Houston franchisee Jim Gressett, who owns more than 160 Pizza Hut locations, says he plans mass expansion with natural products being the "key differentiator." "There are some concepts in our segment that are 200-plus and 700-plus units, but their products include powdered protein mixes, milk, sugars, whey and egg, as well as ice and water as fillers," Gressett says. "We offer the whole fruit and vegetables, along with all-natural super foods." To sample the Austin-imported Daily Juice, head to 6401 Woodway (map at right) now: It's open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

These spots join other trendy new juice bars, including Lasco Enterprises'—the company that owns Max's Wine Dive—recently opened Flow Juice Bar. As for juice bar Juicy in the Sky, it will be moving to 4720 Washington Avenue in the coming weeks.
