Ja'Nel Witt Named Corner Table's New Executive Chef

Word of Bruce Molzan's departure from Corner Table was quickly followed by news that he'd be partnering up with now-defunct Nosh Bistro founder Neera Patidar for a new concept at the old Nosh space. According to the Chronicle, Ja'Nel Witt, the winner of Season 11 of Hell's Kitchen, will replace Molzan at Corner Table as the River Oaks establishment's executive chef.

While Molzan was controversial for a staff walkout allegedly due to unpaid tips, Witt has also faced some controversy of her own. Upon winning a stint at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill in Las Vegas, it was announced that "unforeseen personal circumstances" would "prevent her from accepting the position." Rumors circulated that the split was due to Witt testing positive for cocaine, although neither side ever confirmed those claims. Corner Table co-owner Michelle Coopwood said that with Witt's help, they are "confident the restaurant will be elevated to the next level and offer an even better experience to our customers." According to the Chron, the Art Institute of Houston grad has more than seven years of culinary experience and is known locally for her work at Indian restaurant Kiran's as well as Spanish restaurant Tintos and the Tasting Room in Uptown Park.
