Upper Kirby's Saint Genevieve and Brio Suddenly Close

Saint Genevieve and Brio Tuscan Grille have called it quits. Yesterday we noted that Swamplot spotted moving trucks on-site at the former Italian restaurant that replaced Pesce, and shortly thereafter CultureMap reported that just across Kirby, brunch hotspot Saint Genevieve would also be closing. A representative for Saint Gen told Eric Sandler that The Van Delden Group "simply decided to close Saint Genevieve so they can focus on other projects in their pipeline. They have a large expansion project of their businesses going on in Austin as well."

This news comes just weeks after the impending closure of Kirby "bro bars" Roak, OTC and Hendrick's Pub, which are all making way for a new development.
