Updated Look at Jonathan's the Rub's Memorial Digs

Here's an updated look at the upcoming home for Jonathan's the Rub in the Gateway Memorial area. The new location of the familiar favorite will be opening later this year, around October or November. A rep for the place says she is "not sure what we are going to do with the current space just yet," but the mammoth 5,600-square-foot future home for the Americana staple is closer to completion and will seat about 220 diners between a dining room, patio and new bar.

And the address isn't the only major change for Jonathan's the Rub. Along with the new locale, chef/owner Jonathan Levine will be adding a whiskey selection created by Reserve 101 owner Mike Raymond. "Upon entering the restaurant, guests will see the large wood-burning grill and rich dark wood and mahogany accents throughout the restaurant, including the impressive full-service mahogany bar, which will focus heavily on whiskey," a rep said. "The rich accents create a warm and inviting environment and the open-kitchen concept will be carried over from the old location, so guests will still feel a part of the action they have come to expect while dining at Jonathan's The Rub."
