Seattle-based ramen shop Samurai Noodle will debut its first Houston outpost this November or December. Temporary signage is up and prominently displays the anticipated opening date. The new restaurant will be at a strip center on the feeder of Katy Freeway at Durham, and a TABC notice shows that the restaurant has already applied for a beer and wine license.
This will be the first Texas location for the chain, which specializes in customizable ramen noodles and creative, non-pork broth options. Earlier this month, the regional manager for Samurai's Texas expansion, Thomas Tang, told CultureMap that this shop is different from other ramen places because their noodles are "fresh-made and can be ordered chewy, regular or soft." For those who can't wait for a bowl of ramen now, there's Ninja Ramen on Washington and the highly acclaimed Tiger Den in Chinatown, not to mention Soma just minutes away from this upcoming place.
