Plans for Haven Space; Where Its Chefs Are Headed Next

The recent shutter of both Haven and its raw bar Cove sparked some questions: What will replace it and where will both chefs Randy Evans and Philippe Gaston head next? The Chronicle reports that Union Kitchen owner Paul Miller bought the building and has already brought on former Osteria Mazzantini chef Paul Lewis for an upcoming restaurant called, of course, Paul's Kitchen.

As for Evans, he's seeking out a new space for a neighborhood joint that's speculated to be a fried chicken spot. Evans is famous for inventive Southern comfort food, including his popular fried chicken. Gaston will be re-joining the Azuma group, the company behind Azuma Sushi, Soma Sushi and Kata Robata, at an izakaya-style place expected to open where Farrago once stood later this fall.
