Lavash-style pizzas might have been the main attraction at Bar Boheme, thanks to chef Rishi Singh, but they're also part of the reason he was asked to leave his post at that Montrose spot. Singh tells CultureMap that when he couldn't "replace the bar's pizzas" with new burgers for a weekly special quickly enough, owner Morgan Holleman fired him. The popular chef has become a staple in the local food scene, often participating in competitions and creating an internationally diverse menu that draws in patrons from all over town.
While Singh doesn't have a new project lined up just yet, it's unlikely that the talented chef will be idle for long. In the meantime, Boheme chef Jordan Economy will remain at the bar and will oversee several of Singh's original recipes. We've contacted the owner and will update if he responds.
Update: The Chron offers the bar's side of the story.
