Barnaby's Cafe, Southern Goods and More Coming Soon

1) The Heights: Barnaby's Cafe will be opening a seventh location in the Heights, in the space that once housed City Oven and D'Amico's Italian Market Cafe before that. They are shooting to open by the end of the year.

2) Upper Kirby: The seemingly doomed Brio/Pesce space has been taken over by Clark/Cooper Concepts who plan to open a still unnamed seafood restaurant next summer. Chef Charles Clark, who will run this new operation describes the decor as "Santa Barbara yacht club meets Nikki Beach" atmosphere with a "white, clean" look and "bright nautical colors" and, fittingly, wants to serve "big, beautiful salads, crudo, tartares and whole roasted fish." 3) The Heights: Owner of Cottonwood and Liberty Station, Charles Bishop, and Lyle Bento, the former sous chef at Underbelly just signed a lease on a new restaurant together. Southern Goodswill open in the Heights come January and plan to serve a menu of soul food, including fried chicken, burgers and seafood. [HBJ]
