Expect fried chicken and "bad-ass" sides from the H-Town StrEATS team.

The Bird House is up and running at 606 E. 11th Street in The Heights as an ongoing pop-up. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (10 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays), H-Town StrEATS food truck chefs Jason Hill and Matt Opaleski have joined forces with chef Matt Keller to offer their take on fried chicken and "bad-ass" southern sides— think beer-n-bacon smothered cabbage made with Saint Arnold Amber, for one. The super-casual location (open doors and picnic tables), known as The Boil House during crawfish season, feels like the perfect spot to enjoy the tasty birds, which are sourced locally from Holmes Foods.

With a menu including daily specials typically found only on the truck and an easy-access drive-thru, these guys are upping the fried chicken game in Houston.
