Houston Chefs Compete for Champion Shucker Title

Julep, one of the hottest bars in the country at the moment, was the scene an oyster-shucking contest Monday. Restaurant industry pros and amateurs were pitted against the other for the ultimate grand prize: the difficult to procure Pappy Van Winkle (Pappy Van Winkle 20 to be exact). CultureMap's Eric Sandler recaps the festivities that included local culinary rock stars Chris Shepherd of Underbelly, Seth Siegel-Gardner of The Pass and Provisions, Kenten Marin of Holley's and Coltivare's Morgan Weber.
