Dua, the revamped version of Vietnamese restaurant Mo Mong in Midtown, has closed. CultureMap notes the restaurant announced its closing on Facebook yesterday to the disappointment of their frozen cosmos fans. Last January, owner Viet Hoang closed Mo Mong, remodeled and reopened in hopes that a fresh and hip decor, new menu additions and DJs would breathe new life (aka younger customers with high disposable income) into the space, but evidently none of it was enough. Dua is holding one last hurrah tonight after 17 years in the neighborhood, complete with a DJ spinning tunes. Bid them farewell and have one last sip of frozen cosmo starting at 6 p.m.
