The Houston Chronicle reports that the ground breaking for a new Hotel ZaZa location in the Memorial City neighborhood this month. Kirksey Architecture will oversee the design and Anslow Bryant Construction is the general contractor.
"With the addition of Hotel ZaZa, MetroNational has brought another great amenity to Memorial City that will benefit both business users and residents in West Houston," MetroNational president Jason Johnson said in a statement. "MetroNational is now one step closer to completing our development at Interstate 10 and Bunker Hill and providing amenities necessary for a best of class development."
The plans are strong: The new hotel will be 17-stories and house 159 guest rooms as well as over 10,000 square feet of event space. What's different about this new location versus the existing Museum District hotel will be the addition of 130 live-in apartments. Amenities will include two outdoor pools, a spa and restaurant lounge, although no official word yet as to who will oversee the restaurant nor it's concept.
