Eater Houston has received learned that Steel City Pops, a craft popsicle brand based in Alabama, will be opening it's first Houston location in the Heights.
Offering gourmet pops made from organic and local ingredients is rumored to have leased a space in the Heights Plaza, located at 420 East 20th Street. Steel City Pops was founded in Alabama in 2012 and in addition to it's home state operations has outposts in the DFW area and were also rumored to have plans for further expansion there.
Their menu is broken down into basically four categories: Fruity, creamy, cookie and coffee flavors. Expect excellent flavor combinations like cinnamon apple (fruity), maple bacon with bourbon (creamy) and gingerbread cream cheese (cookie). Hopefully the doors open in time for hotter months ahead.
