Soon to debut in the Woodlands in 2016, the latest location of The Westin has announced it's appointment of the executive chef post to Richard Mendoza. Mendoza brings nearly 30 years of culinary experience to the table, and almost half at the executive chef title.
Before joining The Westin The Woodlands, Mendoza was the Clubhouse Executive Chef at Streamsong, an acclaimed golf and spa resort in Central Florida. In his role, he managed Restaurant 59, a prime steakhouse servicing two golf courses and a ballroom. Mendoza was employed by Marriott International for 13 years. His early career, which was primarily devoted to private restaurants and clubs in Tallahassee and Atlanta, included a pivotal appointment under a Michelin Chef at The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, where he sharpened his fine dining abilities.
The Woodlands certainly hasn't slowed down development and The Westin will be a great addition with Mendoza leading the charge.
