On Tuesday Alison Cook delivered her review of Rico's MNN Morning Noon and Night), the new Midtown patio eatery. Cook praised the twice cooked french fries and $3 Häagen-Dazs shakes, but the burger itself earned a B grade. "An excellent shake made with vanilla Häagen-Dazs for three bucks? That's a shocker in a city where shakes at the premium joints are going for $5-$6, and climbing. Credit is due for very respectable twice-cooked fries, cut narrow and well-crisped, with just enough sea salt for spark."
Katherine Shilcutt gave a good nod towards the SaltAir experience in River Oaks, citing the service and presentation as top notch. Having been nominated for the Stone Cold Stunner Eater Award, her take was no surprise. "The excellent service is only part of an equation that brings a certain elegant energy to the space."
Black & White in the Heights was also reviewed by Shilcutt and praised the Ribeye and price ranges of her meal including dessert. "Even with wine and dessert, our check came out to less than $100—a date-night steal."
