In a startling announcement last October, Radio Milano wished chef Jose Hernandez farewell and good luck in future endeavors, in whatever way shape or form those endeavors were to be. It seemed vague and perhaps cryptic at the time, but the restaurant in the Hotel Sorella at CityCentre was sad to see him go.
The latest announcement from the group sheds light to the situation for everyone involved. Chef Hernandez will be leaving Radio Milano, but not after several months time, in which course he will stay at the helm and oversee the kitchen and operations. Why the lengthy hangaround? His new home will be the anchor restaurant in Alessandra Hotel located at the GreenStreet district downtown, which is still under development and likely needs the six months to finish construction.
It should also be pointed out that The Valencia Group is the development/management company which owns both the Alessandra and the Sorella, so perhaps the previous announcement pre-dated the negotiations by Hernandez to make the move, or perhaps he just decided to get back into the game.
