It appears Blini Hoxha, Fidan Baca and the rest of the Pub Fiction gang are vying to become the kings of Midtown's bar scene. Hoxha along with co-owner Michael Paolucci opened Midtown's Pub Fiction in 2000, followed by Shot Bar, Celtic Garden, 3rd Floor and now another bar looks to be in the works.
An eagle-eyed reader spotted a Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) notice on the corner of Milam and Stuart for a new bar from the Pub Fiction group. The notice for a mixed beverage and late night permit, posted since December at 3304 Milam, shows Moonshine Deck as the applicant. Last week, the group applied for a TABC permit for another concept tentatively named The Moonshiners next door to Prohibition Supperclub & Bar.
Whether the bar will have a prohibition or craft beer slant is unknown, but what is known is the area is prime space for new life. The property has been vacated for some time but with beer garden Wooster's Garden across the street and Moonshine Deck on the way, another Midtown block could be Houston's next party spot.
