The owner behind Cottage Grove neighborhood watering hole Down the Street, is opening a bar with a similar name in the Warehouse District. Situated between forthcoming lounge Arlo's Ballroom and District 7 Grill, is the home to East Downtown's newest inhabitant Around the Corner. A Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) notice adhered to a window of a house at 1510 Hutchins reveals the possibly named bar. A Down the Street representative was not available for comment, but we'll continue to reach out for further information.
While St Emanuel street is currently filled with energetic Lucky's Pub, Little Woodrow's and Mojeauxs Louisiana Drinkery, nearby Hutchins street is slowly morphing into what could become EaDo's new hangout area. With new residential development on Polk, coupled with the close proximity of BBVA Compass Stadium, Eatsie Boys' 8th Wonder Brewery and warehouses filled with commercial potential, the street is prime to become the EaDo version of downtown's 300 block of Main.
