If you've driven down South Shepherd and Westheimer, you're aware of ongoing road repairs that have turned daily commutes into a nightmare for over a year. No one knows this more as Certified Master Chef Fritz Gitschner of 60 Degrees Mastercrafted.
In a recent interview with local news station KHOU, the owner/chef of the year-old River Oaks restaurant shared how the long-term street construction in front of his business, which started before doors opened in November 2013, has had a negative impact on his bottom line. Despite serving $200 gold leaf burgers and locally sourced beef dishes, the effects of the ongoing street repairs has reduced the number customers, leaving Fritz to make cutbacks like forgoing lunch services. Weathering the storm for now, the 60 Degrees Mastercrafted chef is optimistic about the restaurant's future once repairs come to an end. Construction is projected to be completed by July.
