Craving a burger for lunch from Little Bitty Burger Barn? You'll have to wait until later in the day because the Oak Forest eatery is temporarily closed. Early Wednesday morning, the burger shack was burglarized and an employee shot.
According to 13 Eyewitness News, the employee was shutting down the restaurant when two men pulled into a shared parking lot in a stolen white Chevy truck, parking at the nextdoor carwash. After walking to a business, the men returned to Little Bitty Burger Barn, robbed the restaurant and shot the employee in the leg.
Surveillance camera from a neighboring business shows one of the robbers walking out with a television, leaving the crime scene in a light-colored compact car. The employee was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where they remain in stable condition.
While police continue their investigation, Little Bitty Burger Barn will remain closed. An employee with the restaurant expects the restaurant to reopen after 1 p.m.
