The drive for legendary Chicago-style deep dish pie is a smidge shorter now. Gino's East is officially open in Willowbrook. The pizzeria's first service was yesterday, serving hefty slices of its Meaty Legend (pepperoni, Italian sausage, Canadian bacon and bacon), other well-known specialty pies and Texas geared items like the BBQ Brisket 'Za, a brisket pizza.

Chicago's iconic pizzeria opened its first Texas location in The Woodlands last December, however, this marks the first location in Houston. Limited hours will be in place today, with service between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. Regular business hours will resume Saturday, February 28 at 11 a.m. If you want your pizza to go, you'll have to wait until April 1 when the restaurant rolls out a carry-out option. Delivery service is expected to begin the following month.

Franchised by ATX Brands, more Houston-area Gino's East locations are in the works. For now, four additional Texas locations will open this year in San Antonio, Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin.
