Lasco Enterprises sealed the deal to take over Arturo's Uptown Italiano in Uptown Park. For several weeks, the parent company of The Tasting Room, MAX's Wine Dive and Flow Juice Bar negotiated terms to purchase Arturo's Uptown Italiano and open an upscale Tex-Mex and tequila bar concept in its place.
Lasco chief brand officer Jonathan Horowitz made the official announcement via a press release where he revealed Añejo, the name of the new concept as previously reported, is expected to open in mid-March. Developing the menu is MAX’s Wine Dive's executive chef Michael Pellegrino, taking traditional Tex-Mex recipes and incorporating them into classic dishes, parrillada platters and more. There are also plans to include tableside prepared items to the menu. On the cocktail side of things, tequila and mezcal are at the forefront, with over 100 high-end tequilas and mezcals on the roster. Also on the beverage menu, cocktails crafted from Flow Juice Bar's cold-pressed juices and authentic Mexican sodas.
Arturo's Uptown Italiano was not immediately available for comment regarding questions over owner Bill Sadler's decision to relocate or close, but their last day of business at their current location is February 28. Añejo will move in on the first of March.
