Having captured the hearts of New Yorkers and opening two brick-and-mortar locations in the city that never sleep, The Halal Guys are plotting to conqueror the world several cities at a time, including Houston. Last December, the soon-to-be mega chain announced its intentions to open five franchised locations with more to come in H-Town.
Rumors suggest the street-food concept will open its first Bayou City restaurant this spring, but nothing concrete confirms this yet. But there may some insight into where the NYC import with humble food cart roots may set up shop. According to an announcement on commercial real estate firm Transwestern's website, The Halal Guys are looking to open in a "high visibility/high density [area]." Possible target locations where you may be able to get your fill of lamb and chicken over rice smothered in white sauce include the Galleria, Memorial City, Downtown, Medical Center, The Woodlands, Willowbrook, Katy and Baybrook areas.
