After conquering Midtown, the group behind Pub Fiction, Celtic Garden, 3rd Floor Bar and Crisp are broadening their portfolio. The nightlife gurus are moving into downtown, according to a Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) notice posted on the corner of Prairie and Main. Industry insiders say Blini Hoxha recently purchased the 1000 Prairie Street property on the ground floor of the McCrory Building. The name listed on the notice indicates the bar will likely be named The Moonshiners, but Hoxha hasn't provided additional details about the concept.
Downtown's bar scene is starting to shape up and become the nightlife hotbed it once was between 2003 and 2005. Soon there will be more options to choose from than the 400 block of Main and Market Square area where OKRA Charity Saloon, Captain Foxheart's Bad News Bar & Spirit Lodge, The Pastry War and others are located. Joining the fray along with The Moonshiners, rumored bar from Wooster's Garden owners across the street, Barringer, and next door neighbor Prohibition Supperclub & Bar's forthcoming adjacent beer garden.
