Houston, here's your new lunch plan for the week and beyond: Prohibition Supperclub & Bar. The popular downtown dining destination recently revamped its lunch menu, introducing several additions to its line-up.
Like dinner, chefs Ben McPherson and Matt Wommack's lunch offerings include duck and andouille gumbo, a selection of chargrilled oysters, plus house favorites smoked fried chicken and shrimp and grits. While you can still get favorites like the breakfast plate (stone ground grits, oyster mushrooms, bacon, quail egg with foie gras added on), fish beignets (zucchini, onion, smoked tartar sauce) and the sinfully gooey grilled pimento and cheese sandwich served on pan de mie, new items from the duo have been added.
Chargrilled oysters and vegetables are scaled back a bit, but small plates selections have expanded. Highlights from the fuller menu, which offers a variety of Southern dishes include: New Orleans BBQ shrimp, roasted radish and turnips, and a decadent three cheese mac and cheese.
Visit this week and try the entire menu for half-price. Lunch at Prohibition Supperclub & Bar is available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take a look at the full menu below.
