The International House of Pancakes has declared March 3, National Pancake Day. What’s that you say? You thought National Pancake Day was in September? It is. September 26th to be exact. But who cares? Any day involving the syrup-laden breakfast treat is reason enough to celebrate.

How does one commemorate such a momentous occasion? Go all out with the best kind of pancakes there is to have, free ones. There’s no need to make a mad dash to your nearby IHOP, the pancake chain is dishing out a stack (that’s three pancakes), free of charge until 10 p.m.

After the massive pancake consumption, diners are encouraged to leave a donation in exchange for the short stack. You see, IHOP’s National Pancake Day is really about giving back. All collected donations at Houston-area locations benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children.
