Revelry on Richmond/Facebook

MONTROSE — It's the best of both world combined: bourbon (or rather hints of it) and beer at Revelry on Richmond's Bourbon Barrel Night. Flights of bourbon barrel aged brews are spotlighted for a $20 fee tonight. The lineup includes Saint Arnold Bishop's Barrel 8, Karbach Bourbon Barrel Hellfighter, Harviestoun Ols Dubh 12yr and Gulden Draak Brewmaster Reserve. [Eaterwire]

DOWNTOWN — Try your luck at a shot of Glenmorangie Pride 1978 this evening. The shot is valued at $750 and only one person will win bragging rights. Tickets are required to tonight's whiskey tasting (and names will be entered for the shot drawing) and talk with Dr. Bill Lumsden, Head of Distilling and Whiskey Creation at Glenmorangie. Proceeds benefit Lucky Dog Rescue charity. [Eaterwire]

MEDICAL CENTER — Uncinch your pants and prepare to gorge in the rodeo's fried-food-caloric-palooza. Need a guide on what to eat? Look no further than this year's Golden Buckle Foodie Award winners. The annual event took place today, ranking this year's best rodeo bets like fried sriracha and banana split funnel cake. [Houston Chronicle]
