The dual Washington Avenue concept from former Smith & Wollensky general manager Benjamin Berg has set an opening date — well, two of them, to be precise. B&B Butchers' retail butcher component will open for business May 13, while the upscale steakhouse plans to get cooking on May 21.
The new restaurant at the historic Dittman building also has a pretty sweet rooftop patio with skyline views where patrons will be able to enjoy not just cocktails, but full-service dining. (Of course, you could also grab some steaks to-go and do the cooking at home.) One thing's for sure: Given the building's eye-catching cow and pig motifs and all-caps declarations of "dry aged" and "prime," passers-by certainly won't be left wondering, "What's that place?"
