Chomping at the bit to get a taste of anticipated Heights restaurant Southern Goods? Here's your chance: It'll host a brunch pop-up this Sunday, May 3 at Cottage Grove bar Ladybirds from noon to 3 p.m.
No menu for the event has been posted as of yet, but if the first pop-up the Southern Comfort crew hosted is any indication, expect a heavy dose of Southern comfort with some creative twists. Here's what the the team — which includes Charles Bishop of Liberty Station and Cottonwood fame and well-pedigreed chefs Lyle Bento, JD Woodward and Patrick Feges — served up at the event held at Ladybirds two weeks ago:
As for the actual brick-and-mortar restaurant: Progress photos posted to Southern Comfort's Facebook a month ago indicate there's still plenty of work to be done on the interior. Seems like this opening will be one worth the wait, though: In addition to its mission of "celebrating the foods and spirits of the South," future patrons can also expect late-night hours, a wraparound patio, and plenty of craft beer and cocktails.
