It's been over a year's wait for chef/restauranteur Bryan Caswell and Bill Floyd's forthcoming barbecue spot. Partnering with barbecue guru Greg Gatlin (Gatlin's Barbecue), the duo are close to opening their highly-anticipated downtown smokehouse Jackson Street BBQ.
While Caswell has remained tight lipped on an official opening, the diners will receive the opportunity to sample a few menu items Monday, April 6. The trio are throwing an opening day bash at their new digs where Gatlin will serve his East Texas-style 'cue and the Saint Arnold brews will flow.
Although the complete menu won't debut on the day of the premiere, the main attraction will be front and center. Barbecue standbys like brisket, ribs, chicken and in-house ground sausage will be available. Additional entrees include loaded potatoes, smoked meat sandwiches and a burger. To go along with the menu, a roster of classic Southern sides. Dirty fried rice, collard greens, fried mac and cheese, and coleslaw will make an appearance. Caswell shares seasonal sides will be added over time, as will Caswell's Gulf Coast seafood offerings, which include barbecue crab and shrimp.
After you've scoped the menu, take a tour inside Jackson Street BBQ.
