Three years ago, Pizaro's Pizza Napoletana conquered pizza lover's hearts in the Energy Corridor and is ready for a new challenge: taking on Montrose. After hosting a soft opening last evening, the pizzeria officially debuts its new digs today at 1020 West Gray, reports Houston Chronicle.
The new space boasts a twin wood oven imported from Italy and seats 80. Owner Bill Hutchinson, who's also a certified pizzaiolo, serves his Neapolitan-style pizzas the way they're meant to be made using type "00" flour, yeast, San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella, herbs, and purified water. The menu offers many favorites from the first location including margherita, calabrese (tomato sauce, spicy sopressata, pepperoni, and mozzarella and basil) and the potato and mushroom topped with truffle oil, mozzarella, rosemary, and garlic.
Doors open at 11 a.m. Bring your appetite and patience. The small parking lot will likely be packed and long lines inside during Pizaro's Pizza Napoletana's first week.
