MONTROSE — Cori Xiong and Heng Chen, owners of Chinatown crowd-favorite Mala Sichuan Bistro, quietly opened the doors to their second Houston location (1201 Westheimer Road) last week after soft opening on May 12. According to early Yelp, this is a more modern, slightly more upscale take on the original. The restaurant's Twitter asks customers to give them another month to get things right, but the restaurant is technically serving up the Sichuan every day except Tuesdays, from 11 a.m. through the last seating at roughly 9:40 p.m. [EaterWire]

THE HEIGHTS — Grocery store/butcher shop/coffee bar Revival Market renovations recently wrapped up and — as of this past Friday — the space has shifted to more of a restaurant and market with dinner service (Tuesday through Sunday). Twitter has the new hours of operation along with a first peek at the dinner menu. The food is described as ‘modern American with a Gulf Coast Texas farm-to-plate sensibility.’ It's BYOB until their licensing is complete, which will most likely happen in early summer. Then a full bar program should roll out. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN — Also newly remodeled and reopened is Russo’s New York Pizzeria at 604 Polk Street. Now there is an open kitchen, digital menu boards and a digital soda machine. Go for make-your-own pizza and pasta stations. [EaterWire]

MIDTOWN — After much anticipation, Pastry chef Rebecca Masson is set to open her new 24-seat Fluff Bake Bar on May 28 — complete with floor-to-ceiling windows so you can watch the kitchen make all those macarons, Moon Pies and ice creams. The new spot will also have a small patio where you can enjoy far more than sweet stuff.  Savory items, wines, and a coffee selection from Katz Coffee will also be offered. [HoustonChronicle]
