Fluff Bake Bar, the long-awaited dessert destination from local sweets queen Rebecca Mason, has arrived. On Thursday, the location officially opened in Midtown at 314 Gray Street with a slew of the desserts Masson is known for around town, like her signature cup|cakes (a.k.a. trifles), unicorn bait, couch potato cookies, SOLs (a.k.a. moon pies), and fluffernutters.
But — this being a bar and all — there are new things to linger over: namely, plated desserts, charcuterie plates, beer and wine. So, now you've got one more option for dessert post dinner at Oporto or The Republic Smokehouse.
Items like a blackberry tart with lemon verbena ice cream and Italian donuts with honey semifreddo are $12 each. You can also order a three-course dessert for $21; pair it with wine for an additional $12. Also note that former Uchi pastry guru Philip Speer will be on hand June 13 selling his wares, side-by-side with Masson. Look for more guest bake sales and even guest chef dinners down the line.
