EAST END — Long-time East End couple Susan Sahwani-Garcia and Julian Garcia Jr. open the first brick-and-mortar version of their ice cream truck Chocolate Wasted today. Expect flavors like lemon creme and vibrant blueberry lavender and a neighborhood-y vibe. The popular food truck will remain on the streets of Houston.[Eater Wire]

WEST UNIVERSITY — Intimate neighborhood wine bar Simone on Sunset recently re-opened — seemingly against all odds. Eater reached the business' Facebook page admin today who wouldn't comment on the kerfuffle that went down last year, but did mention the menus are basically the same save for "minor tweaks."
