HEIGHTS — Hugs and Donuts discovers a likeness to Jesus Christ in one of their passion fruit donuts this morning. The donut, a passion fruit filled with meringue, was miraculously caramelized with a striking resemblance to the religious figure. Hopes to sell the donut on ebay, as some Facebook fans suggested, were thwarted when a customer purchased the donut a little after 9 a.m. this morning. [EaterWire]
WEST HOUSTON — Paper City's James Brock has a salty, or should I say lack-there-of experience at newly opened Bramble. The writer wishes chef Randy Rucker well, but is unsure if he'll ever return to the restaurant. [PaperCity Magazine]
HOUSTON — Swamplot is taking a summer break while acquiring and re-arranging their editorial team. The site has proven to be a solid resource for real estate news in Houston, and in particular to Eater Houston a reliable resource for restaurant opening and closing news. Daily roundups of headlines will continue, but expect a few weeks before original content is back up. [Swamplot]
