EAST END The Pitmaker World Championship cooking team joins Houston chef Ara Malekian (Aracan Kitchen) and Harlem Road Texas BBQ for a BBQ pop-up on the Navigation Esplanade during the East End Street Market on Sunday, August 2 starting at 10 a.m. to benefit East End Houston Cultural District. HOUSTON — Not all restaurants participating in Houston Restaurant Week (HRW) are created equal, in fact some aren't technically restaurants at all. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema's two locations in Houston participating for the second year in a row, remain the only movie theater to be involved, which is definitely a testament to their food, craft beers and specialty cocktails. MONTROSE — Get a four-course prix fixe meal from Tony Mandola's during the month of August through Labor Day to benefit their neighbor, The Houston Area Women's Center. The prix fixe menu will feature signature menu items from Mandola's Gulf Coast Creole/Italian menu, with $5 from each menu item served donated. [CharityWire]
