The Bird and The Bear located on Westheimer has closed and sold to Relish owner, Addie D'Agostino.

Relish owner Addie D'Agostino, spoke with CultureMap Houston and noted plans to extend her store's prepared gourmet fare into a full service restaurant. "We've developed a good relationship with River Oaks at Relish, and we are hoping to give them a more high end dining experience," D'Agostino said. The present Relish (located on San Felipe) has had a sign up for months intimating difficulties with their landlord, no word yet if the restaurant will shutter the original location prior to opening the new concept, dubbed Relish Fine Foods on Westheimer.

The restaurant will be led by Relish's present executive chef Dustin Teague, and will feature classic American fare. An estimated six months of interior changes mean Relish Fine Foods is anticipated to open spring of 2016. The interior will receive a full makeover, which will include a new bar.

As for, Ouisie's Table, The Bird and The Bear's sister restaurant will continue on without any changes from the sale. Ouisie's owners Wafi Dinari and his partner Elouise Adams Jones's spoke with the Chron and did however, note possible plans for a new chic Moroccan concept in The Woodlands.

UPDATE: We spoke with Relish owner Addie D'Agostino in regards to the San Felipe location. The River Oak's grab-and-go gourmet location has no present plans of closing.
