On August 25, 2015, Mia Bella, listed as plaintiff MB Main, LLC, filed a lawsuit against their landlord, M.T. Mercantile Company, for damages, "mental anguish," and a breached lease agreement for the amount of $2,000,000. Mia Bella contends they were forced to close the restaurant on June 1, 2015 due to the landlord's failure to make necessary repairs to the building. Mia Bella cites in the lawsuit, that the unattended repairs resulted in water entering through the sewers and through the restaurant's upper floors causing catastrophic damage on the first floor and to the basement containing electrical equipment.

Presently, there is no word from Mia Bella on plans to re-open or response to the lawsuit from the restaurant's landlord, M.T. Mercantile Company. [Houston Street Wise]
