The Great Banh Mi CookoffHouston's chefs compete in the second annual banh mi showdown on September 16, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Contestants will battle for People's Choice and Judges' Choice awards at the end of the evening. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased on the BPSOS-Houston eventbrite page. The competitors: Buttz Food Truck, Chef King Co, Chef JoJo Urbano/KA, Eatwell, Les Ba'get, Table 57 Dining & Drinks, Jason Liao/Tides, Vietnam Poblano, Vietwich

Go Pig or Go Home — Fourth Annual Suckling Pig Throwdown at 8th Wonder Brewery
will be held September 20, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $88 and the event has selected OpHeart this year as their charity of choice. The massive event will have upwards of 20 of Houston's top local chefs competing in the popular pig cookoff. Attendees will be able to taste the chefs' creations as well as sample 8th Wonder Brewery's beers.

Beer and Bites — Tony Mandola's will be hosting a Beer and Bites tasting event featuring Saint Arnold Beer, with live New Orleans style jazz music on their recently approved dog friendly patio. The event will take place September 26, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person, with $1 from each ticket sold donated to BARC Animal Shelter and Adoption.

The Abominable Dr. Phibes Feast with Victoria Price — To celebrate the 50th anniversary edition of Vincent and Mary Price's "A Treasury of Great Recipes," Alamo Draft House - Vintage Park is hosting a special evening with Victoria Price, Vincent's daughter on September 27, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A feast using recipes from the book and screening of The Abominable Dr. Phibes, are planned for the evening. Tickets are $55 or $105 epending on if you attend the feast and screening.
