Raj Natarajan Jr., President of Woodrows Heights wrote a note to patrons earlier this summer stating that Woodrows Heights would be temporarily closed for renovations and would reopen at the end of August.
"As you know Woodrows Heights is located in a building with lots of character, due in large part to the fact that it is a renovated house from the early 1900’s. Over the years the building has been host to countless great meals and wonderful times, but all the merriment has taken a toll. Thus, the time has come to shut to doors for a moment, and give our good old building a much needed renovation. We will cease operation after dinner service on Sunday June 14, 2015, and shall reopen on Friday August 21, 2015."
While there was speculation as to what would ultimately happen to Woodrows Heights since it did not reopen in August, it has been confirmed that the location will re-open as Durham House, an upscale, seasonal Gulf coast Cajun restaurant. Also in the works: a local craft beer selection from brewers such as Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company. Stay tuned for more details.
