A.M. Roundup: Underbelly Nabs South's Best 30; Oxheart ReOpens; Beckrew Wine House Gets National Attention

Southern Living selects only one Houston restaurant in it's "South's Best 30," plus more news you might have missed.

MONTROSE Underbelly continues to wow critics and garner national acclaim, this week it's listed as one of the top restaurants in the "South's Best Restaurants, 2015." Houston only nabbed one of the spots on the list of the 30 restaurants. Also of note, Chris Shepherd's was also recently dubbed one of Houston Charcuterie Kings by Eater. [Southern Living Magazine]

WAREHOUSE DISTRICT — Houston's east side favorite, Oxheart, after closing for a month in August is set to reopen this Monday, September 6. Reservations for the modernist cuisine hip and tiny spot are as usual hard to come by, but well worth the wait. [EHOU]

MONTROSE Beckrew Wine House was named on of America's best wine bars by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. The list selected only 20 wine-centric spots across 20 different cities in the country. [Houston CultureMap]

MONTROSE — Chef Matt Marcus, formally of Eatsie Boys brick and mortar cafe, has been hired by James Coney Island to serve as a consultant for JCI Grill. [Houston CultureMap]
