The Halal Guys have a cult following in NYC and for good reason. More often than not, New Yorkers need good food that's hearty, portable, fast and most of all - to their high standards. The Halal Guys have remained a fixture in the NYC food cart days, pre-food trucks) and rumors were swirling for the past couple of years about a suspected Houston outpost.

The Halal Guys have confirmed by phone to Eater that they are bringing their goods to Upper Kirby neighborhood off of Shepherd Street between Richmond and Kirby at 3821 Farnham Street and a grand opening date is set for Saturday, January 30th. Before the grand opening they will also run a partnership with Uber EATS.

They will be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday so you can get some late night grub in. The menu is short and consistent as always - chicken, beef or falafel over rice. Pro-tip: Get the "classic" which is a chicken and beef combo over rice (and plenty of sauce).
