Bonchon took NYC and the east coast by storm after it popped up in the small little town of Fort Lee, NJ in 2006 and has been in expansion mode ever since. The chicken is twice-fried in either sweet and spicy or soy garlic sauce and it quickly developed a cult following through the tri-state.
According to Bonchon's website, they will launch their first Texas location in Katy this year. No date is listed but they have already put up a Bonchon Katy Facebook page. A representative from Bonchon corporate was not available but stay tuned for more developments.
This announcement comes right on the heels of another East Coast crowd favorite, the Halal Guys, who are planning their grand opening in Houston next week and of course the Shake Shack to follow later this year. Is this an east coast takeover?
