Pop-ups are becoming more commonplace than ever before and there's good reason. They serve as a means for collaboration between culinary minds, give up-and-comer's a chance to shine in a spotlight, or they can be part of charitable and special events for raising awareness. Here are some pop-ups in Houston for 2016 that should be on the radar. By all means, if there's a pop-up that you'd like us to know about, please use the trusty tip form.

Momofuku Ssäm Bar Takover at Underbelly
Details: Chris Shepherd spent some time in the Momofuku kitchen in his own pop-up so it's only right that he return the favor. Chef Matthew Rudofker of Momofuku Ssäm Bar will take over the kitchen for one night only.
Dates: Sunday, January 31, 7 p.m.

Ace of Taste Presents: Woman Rising Vol. 1: Maria Gonzalez and Morgan Jankovic
Details: For this Ace of Taste event it's all about pushing women forward. They lowered the price point for this dinner to encourage more women who are on a budget but want to connect with other inspiring women at a private dinner setting.

Thursday Pop-Up With Chef Kenten Marin

Details: Glitter Karaoke hosts it's ongoing pop-up series with exciting chefs in and around Houston. Chef Kenten Marin (formerly of Holley's) will be on deck serving up dishes to warm you up.

Chef Surprise at Recipe House: PAN de TACO
Details: Chef Surprise is a pop-up series that benefits Recipe for Success Foundation, and will feature The Del's Chef Albert Vazquez. Chef Albert will draw menu inspiration from a series of pop-ups he created called, PAN de TACO in an effort to bring back the true spirit of Tex-Mex.

Thursday POP-UP w/ Chef Angelo Emiliani
Details: For this edition of Glitter's ongoing series, Chef Angelo Emiliani from ATX's own Emmer & Rye will be frying chicken and serving up homestyle plates and ice cream for dessert.
